Roger Sherman was an early American lawyer and politician who served as first mayor of New Haven, Connecticut, and served on the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration of Independence.
Articles of Confederation: These were an agreement among all thirteen original states in America that served as its first constitution before being replaced by U.S Constitution. Sherman played a key role in drafting it.
U.S Constitution: This is supreme law governing United States which outlines fundamental rights and duties for citizens along with structure for government institutions. Sherman was also involved in its creation.
Great Compromise (Connecticut Compromise): A proposal suggested by Sherman during the Constitutional Convention that led to the formation of a bicameral legislature, balancing representation for both large and small states.
